Hanson Riverside

Brazoria County Parks Department opened "Hanson Riverside County Park" to the public on June 18, 1988 and ever since, the park has been quite popular for many area residents.  this is a beautifully wooded park on the San Bernard River.  It is located just off of Hwy 35, 3 miles southwest of West Columbia,  the park gate is open daily from 8 am until dark.  Entrance to the day-use park is free.  This park has many features to offer, such as a large colorful playground along with an observation tower to climb and view the park with just a glance.  The park also has a mile of hard surface hike & bike trail for all to enjoy and explore the woodlands and river bank.  So, bring your family, fishing poles, a picnic lunch & enjoy a relaxing day at the park along the San Bernard River bank.  If cooking outdoors is a favorite you may just want to use one of many individual picnic tables & barbeque grills that are available throughout the park.  The park also has a large group pavilion available for rental located on the same side as the playground area perfect for birthday parties, a family get together or just a relaxing day at the park.  So if you haven't been to your parks lately...come on by & see what you've been missing!!
