registered camper to attend.

Kayak, Dinner & A Movie in the Park
April 9th & September 10th

Come enjoy a great day in our park where
we will show you the basics of kayaking in our
cove area starting at 2 PM. Then join us for a
wiener & marshmallow roast starting at 7 PM..
followed by a relaxing outdoor family movie
under the stars, complete with fresh popcorn
and drinks.  Necessary equipment furnished.
Must be a registered camper to attend.

Kayak  Fishing
April 16th, June 18th & September 17th
@ 2 PM

Join San Luis Pass County Park Supervisor,
Debbie Giesecke, on a kayak fishing adventure
and discover some of the best fishing spots in
Christmas Bay. Debbie is a third generation
fisherwoman who learned from some of the first
fishermen in the area.  You will enjoy paddling and
fishing parts of Christmas Bay that few people
have ever seen! Bring your fishing pole, tackle,
supplies & drinking water...we will supply the rest!

Dinner and a Movie at the Park
November 1st

Come see the ultimate movie experience
outside under the stars! Join us for a wiener &
marshmallow roast starting at 7 PM then we
will be showing a family movie on our 12'
screen, so make your reservations now.
Movie starts at 8:00 PM with fresh popcorn and
drinks on us. Must be a registered camper to attend.

Fish Print
June 4th, July 9th & July 23rd @ 2:00 PM

Learn this ancient art called "GYO TAKU" meaning
"GYO" = fish "TAKU" = impression. Make a fish
print or fish impression on paper or bring your
own T-shirt, towel or similar item to use. Necessary
supplies provided.  Pre-registration required.

Learn the Art of Target Archery
June 25th & July 23rd @ 2 PM

Our rangers can teach you the basics of Target
Archery. Learn the steps of shooting & even the
archery range whistle commands to ensure a safe
& enjoyable time. Join us at Camp Mohawk County
Park and test your skills. All necessary equipment
provided. Can you hit the Bull's Eye?
Pre-Registration is required.

Design & Make a Natural Wreath
December 3rd @ 1 PM

Walk with Rangers throughout the park & collect
hidden treasures of natural pine cones, acorns,
leaves, twigs & more...to design & make your
own wreath and take it home. All necessary
supplies provided, but you may bring other items
if you wish to add them to your wreath.

Marine Wildlife-Sea Turtle Rescue
June 7th @ 2 PM

Learn how you can help "Save the Sea Turtles". We will
show you how to identify sea turtle tracks on the beach..
learn what actions to take if you do.  See how & what the
sea turtle rescue team do when the recover sea turtle eggs.

Defending the Coast!
June 14th @ 2 PM

Garvin Germany & Michael Bailey of the Brazoria County
Historical Museum will be on hand to show many details
& facts of how Quintana defended the U.S. Coast during

Campfire Cooking
June 21st & August 9th @ 2 PM

Have you ever thought about Dutch oven cooking? Come
explore the world of campfire cooking...join our rangers
as they demonstrate how to fry, bake, boil & roast in an
authentic Dutch oven over an open flame.

Decorate with Sea Shells
June 28th @ 2 PM

Join our rangers and learn how to create home décor with
seashells. Come make your own creation to take home.

Beach Combing
July 12th @ 2 PM

Join us along with the Sea Shell Searchers of Brazoria
County & learn how to beach comb from the Pro's. Let
us show you how to identify & find special shells buried
in the sand & learn the best time to comb the beach.

Learn from the US Coast Guard...how to have a fun &
above all...learn to be safe in the sea.
